David Hopkins

David Eugene Hopkins age 47, passed away Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016 at his home. David was born on June 23, 1969 to his parents the late Homer Hopkins and Rosie Adkins Hopkins. He was a coal miner and a believer of the freewill baptist faith. Along with his parents, David was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronald Dean Hopkins and Darrell Hopkins, and one sister, Izettie Hopkins. David is survived by two daughters, Rachel Hopkins Cortney Hopkins, two granddaughters, Natalee and Emalee Hogston, two brothers, Dennis Ray Hopkins, Dorby Wayne Hopkins, three sisters, Phyllis Matheny, Dorothy Jean Gearhart, Lois Adkins, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Monday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Monday and Tuesday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Wednesday at 12 noon at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Jimmy Jack Adkins and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Hopkins Cemetery at Greasy Creek.
