Doris Lee Moore

Today October 23, 2016 my mom left this old world for her heavenly home. My mom is Doris McCown Moore, she was so looking forward to seeing her mom, dad, husband and 2 sons that went before her and most of all her Savior. She was born June 17, 1928, making her 88 years old. She had recently moved to Lynchburg VA to be near her daughter and "son" in-law. She fought serious medical problems for years but she kept coming out a winner. Recently though she was tired and dreamed of seeing her loved ones again. She was a member of Blessed Hope in Danville, Va. She really missed Pastor Brian when she moved away. Doris left behind her daughter, Vivian Dalton and son in law, Wayne Dalton and daughter in law, Tammy Moore. Her pride and joy was her grandchildren, Steve Dalton, Robbie Dalton and wife Michele, Brad Moore and wife Amy, Leslie Pinion and husband Kevin, Shana Mullins and husband John. Her greatest happiness were her "babies". I don't know how she could have loved these great-grandchildren anymore, Justin Dalton, Ashley Dalton, Noah Dalton, Ella Dalton, Maddy Dalton, Sophie Dalton, twins, Emily and Owen Dalton, Jacob Moore, Jordan Moore, Samantha Pinion, Brandon Pinion, Jasmine Pinion and Hailey Mullins. Doris was predeceased by her parents, Mallie and Della McCown, her husband of 45 years Vernon Moore and her two sons Kenny and Ronnie Moore. There will be a visitation for family and friends and some of her favorite music Tuesday evening at 7:00 pm at Lucas and Son Funeral Home? The funeral will be Wednesday at 1:00 pm also at Lucas and Son. Interment will follow at Annie E. Young Cemetery.
