George Burke

George (G.D.) Burke, age 69, passed away Saturday, Dec. 10, 2016 at his home. George was born on Jan. 15, 1947 to his parents the late Virgil Baker and Lear Burke Cantrell. He was the husband of the late Wanda Johnson Burke, a retired equipment operator for State Hwy. Dept, and a member of the Pilgrim Rest Old Regular Baptist Church. Along with his wife and parents, George was preceded in death by one infant son. George is survived by one daughter, Lois (Kenny) Wright, one son, Jeff (Jamie) Burke, three sisters, Gail (Bobby) Morris, Dail (Kenny) Stiltner, Linda Baker, four grandchildren, Brittany Hamilton, Kenna Wright, Hunter Burke, Adison Burke, one great granddaughter, Mia Hamilton, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Monday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Monday and Tuesday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2016 at 11a.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Danny Belcher, Jerry Damron, and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Sowards Cemetery at Beefhide.
