Troy Newsome

Troy Edward Newsome, age 80, passed away Monday, Feb. 20, 2017 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Troy was born on Dec. 25, 1936 to his parents the late Andrew Newsome and Annel Ray Newsome. He was a retired employee for Georgia Pacific Sawmill. Along with his parents, Troy was preceded in death by one son, David, nine brothers, Robert, William, Harrison, Andrew, Trussell, Feddie, Russell, Wilson, Jesse, and Clement, and nine sisters, Mary Hamilton, Stella Hamilton, Mella Damron, Ella Newsome, Rena Blair, Angie Damron, Nancedia Bryant, Ruthie Ray, and Izziebelle. Troy is survived by four sons, Jerry (Tina) Newsome, Rocky (Cindy) Newsome, Michael (Sylvia) Newsome, Ricky Newsome, two daughters, Teresa Awan, Stephanie Newsome, one daughter in law, Nancy Newsome, one brother, Noah Newsome, one sister, Victoria Hamilton, special niece, Georgianna Ray, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday at 4p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Wednesday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Thursday, Feb. 23, 2017 at 11a.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with James Ray and David Bentley officiating. Burial will follow in the Newsome Cemetery at Penny Road.
