Herman France, age 87, passed away Wednesday March 8, 2017, at his home in Rogersville, Tn. Herman was born on April 11, 1930 to his parents the late James Oral France and May Ratliff France. Herman was the husband of the late Bessie Robinson France, a retired coal miner, and a member of the Old Regular Baptist. Along with his wife and parents, Herman was preceded in death by one son, Herman France Jr., two grandsons, Ricky Lee Ratliff, and David Eugene France, one brother, Kermit France. Herman is survived by his significant other, Wilma Smith, four sons, Ronald Eugene (Teresa) France, Denno (Judy) France, Gary Wayne (Deronda) France, Keith (Lorrie) France, four daughters, Brenda Ratliff, Linda (Enos) Little, Edith (Donald) Thacker, Sharolet (Keith) Hall, one brother, Arnold France, two sisters, Helen Roberts, Louise Mullins, seventeen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Friday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Friday and Saturday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Sunday, March 12, 2017 at 11a.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Kermit Wright, Teddy Honaker, and Carson Wright officiating. Burial will follow in the Roberts France Cemetery at Caney.
