Bertha Bolden

Bertha Bolden, age 78, passed away Friday, March 17, 2017 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Bertha was born on April 17, 1938 to her parents the late Butler Ratliff and Ollie Thacker Ratliff. Bertha was a homemaker and a member of the Cedar Bottom Old Regular Baptist Church. Bertha was preceded in death by her husband Dempsie Bolden,and her parents. Bertha was preceded in death by two brothers Floyd "Buck" Ratliff, Hassell Ratliff and four sisters Ernestine Hess, Flora Jane Bostic, Iva Lene Ratliff, and Joesphine Ratliff. Bertha is survived by her daughter Sharon Bolden Slone (James) and a Adopted daughter Joan Evonelle Varney Snyder. Bertha is survived by two sisters Gaynelle Fletcher and Stella Marie Varney. Bertha is also survived by three grandchildren Jamie Slone, April Pancone, Melissa Trent, eight great grandchildren Colton Slone, Aaron Slone, Leah Kazmaier, Madlyn Kazmaier, Sofia Pancone, Justin Trent, Ian Trent, and Dylan Trent and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Saturday 6:00 PM at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home. Church Services will be Saturday and Sunday nights at 7:00 PM. Funeral will be Monday, at 12:00 Noon at the Cedar Bottom Old Regular Baptist Church with Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating. Burial will follow in the Bolden Cemetery at Kimper, Ky.
