Bobby James Childers, age 73, passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at his home. Bobby was born on Sept. 6, 1943 to his parents the late Johnny Childers and Roxie Reece Childers. Bobby was a disabled veteran, and a member of the Alleghany Freewill Baptist Church. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during Vietnam War. Along with his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his companion Linda Justice, six brothers, two sisters, and two nephews. Bobby is survived by one son, Dr. James (Lageni) Justice, one brother, Benny (Jettie) Childers, three sisters, Joyce (Jess) Spencer, Vivian Bowens, Anna Shepherd, four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Thursday at 6p.m. at the Alleghany Freewill Baptist Church. Church services will be Thursday and Friday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Saturday April 8, 2017 at 12 noon at the Alleghany Freewill Baptist Church with Ray Tackett, Oscar Damron, and other Alleghany Ministers officiating. Burial will follow in the Robinson Cemetery at Alleghany.
