Robert McPeek

In loving memory of Robert McPeek from Kokomo, IN. He was born August 4, 1951 in Pike County, Kentucky to his parents the late Virlon McPeek and Ova(McPeek) Justice. Robert peacefully passed away on April 15, 2017 at his home surrounded by family. Robert was of the Christian Faith. Along with his parents Robert is preceded in death by three brothers Don McPeek, James McPeek and Roger Keen. Robert is survived by his wife of 41 years, Zella Adkins McPeek; his daughter Michelle and son-in-law Bruce Hawkins of Eureka California. He is also survived by two sisters; Fayetta Slone, (Bill) of Greasy Creek, KY and Shirley Slone of Pikeville, KY and three brothers; Hillard McPeek of Greasy Creek, KY, Dolph McPeek (Alma) of Kokomo, IN, and Billy Keen of Sheridan, IN; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of loving family and friends. Robert lived on Greasy Creek, Shelbiana, KY, during his early childhood and then moving to Indiana when he was 18 years old. Robert enjoyed fishing, gardening, animals, working on engines, and numerous outdoor activities. In 2004, Robert received a double lung transplant due to years of asthma and a chronic lung enzyme disorder at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. His quality of life greatly improved, adding over thirteen years of memories to all of our lives, all of those years are due to the gift of a stranger. Visitation will be at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home Saturday, at 6:00 PM and visitation Sunday at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home. Funeral will be Monday at 12 Noon with Jimmy Jack Adkins officiating. Burial will follow at the Kendrick Family Cemetery, Shelbiana, KY.
