Deidra Kendrick

Deidra Gail (DeeDee) Helvey Kendrick, age 49, passed away Sunday, April 23, 2017 at Pikeville Medical Center. She was born in Pikeville, Ky on August 10, 1967 to her parents Thadus and Glendora Blackburn Helvey. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Clell and Thelma Blackburn and her paternal grandparents Homer and Lizzie Helvey. She is survived by one daughter. Haley Elizabeth Wagner of Lexington, Ky her parents Thadus and Glendora Helvey. She is also survived by aunts, uncles, and a host of cousins who loved her so. Deedee is also survived by three special friends, Jim King and Ava Williamson, and Jennifer Ratliff Rowe. Deedee was baptized into the Body of Christ at Joe's Cree Church of Christ on November 11, 2009. Her years of employment began with Corroon and Black followed by the U.S. Dept of labor, Federal Black Lung Program, and the Social security administration as a claims examiner fro August 2000 to February 2015. Visitation will be Tuesday at 6p.m. until 9p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home The funeral will be Wednesday at 11a.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Jim Abshire and Randall Parsons officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackburn Fields Cemetery at Johns Creek.
