Floyd Compton

Floyd Compton, age 79,passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at the Parview Nursing Home. Floyd was born on January 21, 1938 to his parents the late Ottis Compton and Jessie Damron Compton. He was the husband of the late Dora Bryant Compton, a retired mechanic, a member of the Burning Springs Old Regular Baptist Church, and he also served his country honorably in the U.S. Army. Along with his wife and parents, Floyd was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronnie Lee, and John Gary Compton. Floyd is survived by one son, Jeff (Denise) Compton, two brothers, Ottis Jr. Compton, Bill Compton, three sisters, Virginia Bryant, Jean Tackett, Roxie Margaret Brown, one granddaughter, Martha Paige Newsom, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Thursday at 6p.m. at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Thursday and Friday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 1p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Vernon Damron and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery.
