Fred Gene Moore

Fred Gene Moore, age 87, of Shelbiana, KY, passed away on Friday, June 9, 2017 at the Pikeville Medical Center. He was born on August 9, 1929, the son of the late Sherman and Louisa Cox Moore. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Hopkins Moore, two daughters, Betty Katherine Moore and Lou Ellen Potter, by four brothers, James Moore, Karl Moore, John David Moore and Glen Hayes Moore. He is survived by one daughter, Cindy (Harry) Varney, by two brothers, Mack (Ann) Moore and Henry (Rita) Moore, a sister, Betty Johnson, four grandchildren, Katie Varney, Caleb Varney, Bonnie (Roger) Mullins and Freddie G. (Rosemary) Adkins, and by four great grandchildren, Danny Ray Adkins, Justin Adkins, Katie Mullins and Violet Mullins. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 11, 2017, after 6 p.m. at the Greasy Creek Old Regular Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at 1 p.m. at the Greasy Creek Old Regular Baptist Church with Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating. Burial will follow in the Moore Family Cemetery at Shelbiana. Special services will be held on Sunday and Monday nights at 7 p.m.
