Goldie Newsome

Goldie Newsome age 96 passed away Sunday, June 11, 2017 at her home. Goldie was born on June 4, 1921 to her parents the late George Tackett and Mindy Newsome Tackett. Goldie was the wife of the late Willard Newsome, a homemaker, and a member of the Robinson Creek Old Regular Baptist Church. Along with her husband and parents, Goldie was preceded in death by two daughters, Rosy Dell Watrus, Daisy Faye Justice, and several brothers and sisters. Goldie is survived by two daughters, Pansy (Bill) Ackley, Violet (Fred) Bonn, one son, Vern (Ginny) Newsome, several brothers and sisters, eight grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, eleven great great grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Tuesday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Tuesday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating. Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery at Shelbiana.
