Charlotte Compton

Charlotte Bowling Compton, age 68 passed away Monday, June 19, 2017 at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard Ky. She was born on June 22, 1948 to her parents the late Earl Tackett and Rita Anderson Hall. She was the wife of the late Gregory Compton, retired from the Pike County School System, and a member of the Long Fork Freewill Baptist Church. Along with her husband and parents, Charlotte was preceded in death by her first husband, Freddie Bowling, and one sister, Brenda Bartley Adkins. Charlotte is survived by two daughters, Angie (Michael) Robinson, Karen (Warren) Lynch, three sons, Freddie (Melissa) Bowling, Ricky (Alisha) Bowling, Jesse (Sonya) Bowling, one sister, Christine Hall Hamilton, nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday at 6p.m. at the Long Fork Freewill Baptist Church. Church services will be Wednesday and Thursday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Friday, June 23, 2017 at 12 noon at the Long Fork Freewill Baptist Church with Greg White and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Freddie and Dixie Bowling Cemetery.
