Clifford Adkins

Clifford Adkins, age 69, of Pikeville, Ky., passed away, Thursday, July 20, 2017, at the Pikeville Medical Center. He was born on November 14, 1947 to his parents the late John Adkins and Minnie Damron Adkins. He was a retired Foreman for Teco Coal Company. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Johnny Adkins, Jr., Donnie Adkins, Clinton Adkins, two sisters, Shirley Adkins, and Nancy Adkins. Clifford is survived by his wife Joyce Adkins, one son, Clifford Adkins, Jr.,(Melinda), one daughter, Joanna Varney (Ricky Dale), one foster daughter, Kimberly Fletner. He is also survived by two brothers, Charles Adkins, Sam Adkins; four sisters, Erma Taylor, Bernie Brown, Clara May, Marylen Ratliff and five grandchildren, Ericka Smith (Cody), Cassie Varney, Alexa Adkins, Isaiah Adkins, Kari Adkins, foster grand daughter Danielle Grub, step grandson, Adam Varney and two step great grandchildren, Wyatt Varney and Lylah Varney and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Friday, July 21, 2017 at 6:00 PM at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Friday and Saturday night at 7:00 PM. Funeral will be Sunday at 1:00 PM at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home with Jack Horne and Joe Ray Horne officiating. Burial will follow at the Adkins Cemetery at Phyllis, Kentucky.
