Ruel McGuire

Ruel B. McGuire age 84, of Hatfield, Ky. (Formerly Heisy, Ky.) passed on to his Heavenly home peacefully surrounded by his loving family after suffering from a lingering illness of black lung. Ruel B. was born August 2, 1933 on Higgins Road at Heisey, Ky. to Rell Lawrene and Mary Reed McGuire. He was a retired coal miner and truck driver. He was a member of the Pilgrim Home Regular Baptist Church of Varney, Ky. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Lillie (Gibson) McGuire. They celebrated 61 years of marriage before she passed on. He also was preceded in death by two brothers, Melvin Bruce and Paul David McGuire, four sisters, Brooke, Nannie Lou, Emma Jean, and Juanita. He had one living sister, Grace Eileen and one living brother, Rell Jr. Survivors include three sons, Mark Allen (Tina), Albert (Tammy), Arnold (Patricia), two daughters, Uslie Alberta (Tommy) Dotson, Annette McGuire, fifteen grandchildren, thirty five great grandchildren, one special granddaughter, Alie Nicole and her children, Braylen and Nevaeh. several special nieces and nephews, and his companion "Bailey", several special church friends whom are greatly appreciated. He wants to express his gratitude of love to his family who cared for him , one special sister, Patty Bevins, one special daughter in law, Tammy McGuire, and his daughter Uslie Alberta and husband Tommy Dotson for all their care and love. Visitation will be Saturday at 6p.m. at the Pilgrim Home Old Regular Baptist Church. Church services will be Saturday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Sunday, August 27, 2017 at 1p.m. at the Pilgrim Home Old Regular Baptist Church with Ebb Sesco and others officiating. Burial will follow in the McGuire Cemetery at Hatfield, Ky. In lieu of flowers Ruel asks that donations be made to Appalachian Hospice of Pikeville, Ky.
