Billy Wright, age 85, passed away Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017 at his home. Billy was born on March 7, 1932 to his parents the late Hairm Wright and Bertha Wright. He was the husband of Fanny Trivette Wright, a retired carpenter and race car driver, a member of the Masonic Lodge, and he also served his country in the United States Air Force. Along with his parents, Billy was preceded in death by his first wife, Geraldine Wright, two brothers, Jackie (Barbara) Wright, Gary (Sue) Wright, and two sisters, Phyllis (Herbert) Smallwood, Ruth (Bobby) Smith. Along with his wife, Fanny, Billy is survived by four daughters, Kath (Jack) Abraham, Cindy (Joe) Abraham, Connie Wright, Carrie (Rick) Hartshon, one step daughter, Amy Chavis, four step sons, Terry and Jerry Coleman, Jeremy and Tony Chavis, one brother, Carson (Ruby) Wright, four sisters, Francis (Clinard) Wright Bartley, Norma Wright Baker, Ruby Jean Wright Bartley, Retha Gail Wright Montgomery, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, special thanks to Dr. Bhagrath, whom he loved and all the employees of the dialysis center. Visitation will be Monday at 6p.m. at the Old Union Regular Baptist with church services at 7p.m. Visitation will be Tuesday at 6p.m. at the Dorton Old Regular Baptist Church with services at 7p.m. The funeral will be Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2017 at 12 noon at the Dorton Old Regular Baptist Church with Carson Wright, James Tackett, and Barry Lucas officiating. Burial will follow in the Wright Cemetery at Dorton.
