Vernon Adams

Vernon Adams, age 69, passed away Monday, October 16, 2017 at the Hospice of Huntington. Vernon was born on June 1, 1948 to his parents the late Frank Adams and Carnella Howell Adams. He was retired from Ashland Oil, a member of the Old Regular Baptist Church, and he also served his country honorably in the United States Army during Vietnam War. Along with his parents, Vernon was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Tiffany Adams, and two brothers, Garrett Adams and Harris Adams. Vernon is survived by four children, Vernon (Barbara) Adams Jr., Michelle Lynn Adams, Shane (Brenda) West, Lisa Carree Smith, one sister, Betty Doss, two brothers, Tazzie Adams, Michael Adams, four grandchildren, Christopher Adams, Chelsea Adams, Jeffrey Matthews, Cassidy Ruhland, Four great grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday at 12 noon at the Island Creek Old Regular Baptist Church. Church services will be Wednesday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Thursday, October 19, 2017 at 1p.m. at the Island Creek Old Regular Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Howell Cemetery at Island Creek.
