Mary Eldie Adkins

Mary Eldie Adkins, age 83, passed away Sunday, October 29, 2017 in Gallipolis, Ohio. Mary was born on August 17, 1934 to her parents the late William (Tink) Jones and Jennie Thomas Jones. She was the wife of the late Chester (Chuck) Adkins, retired from Old Republic Insurance Company, and a member of the Caney Creek Freewill Baptist Church. Along with her husband and parents, Mary was preceded in death by one brother, Douglas Jones, and one sister, LaVerne (Sissy) Walters. Mary is survived by four step children, one brother, Billy (Sylvia) Jones of Richlands, North Carolina, one sister, Jennie (Cranford) Heath of Kingston, North Carolina, a special nephew, Bobby Tackett of Pikeville, Kentucky, a host of step grandchildren, and loving nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly. Visitation will be Wednesday at 5p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Wednesday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Thursday, November 2, 2017 at 12 noon at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Brian Hundley officiating. Burial will follow in the Johnson Memorial Park.
