Shelia Jones

February 9, 1960 — December 24, 2017

Shelia Branham Jones, age 57, passed away Sunday, December 24, 2017 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Shelia was born February 9, 1960 to her parents the late Richard (Dickie) Branham and Anna Sue Branham Smith. She is survived by her husband, Ricky Lee Jones, her son, Ricky (Amber) Jones, sister, Brenda (Danny) Damron, two grandchildren, Rylee Danielle Jones, Connor Christopher Jones, and a host of loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by one step-son Christopher Lee Jones and one sister, Glema (Goble) Newsome. Shelia was a follower of Christ, devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend who always put others before herself. Shelia was many things to many people but, I know everyone she came in contact with would all agree she was "amazing". To describe her in a book would be impossible, let alone a paragraph but, I will do my best. Shelia was a tom boy turned cheerleader. A beautiful woman inside and out. She loved nature and the simple things in life. She could see beauty in the darkest of things. Shelia was pure and always wanted the best for people. Shelia was also a fighter! Even though she was in the midst of the hardest battle of her life she would spend time at the cancer center talking with others to help them cope with their illness and inspire them to keep fighting. Shelia never worried about herself. She was successful in many aspects of her life but her biggest accomplishment was living her life in the way God wanted by loving, helping, and serving others. Visitation will be Tuesday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Tuesday night at 7p.m. The funeral will be Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at 12 noon at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Arnold Turner and Sam Crawford officiating. Burial will follow in the Stumbo Family Cemetery in Minnie, Ky.
