Jack D. Wallace

Jack D. Wallace, age 83 of Norton, Va., formerly of Pikeville, Ky, passed away December 29, 2017, at the Signature Healthcare Center. Jack was born on July 25, 1934 to his parents the late Lige Wallace and Victoria Mullins Wallace. Jack was a member of the Esserville Community Church at Norton. He served his Country Honorable in the Air Force for more then twenty years. He was a retired business owner of the Sears Store in Wise, Va., which he owned for more than forty years. He was a Norton City Council member from April 1987 to December 2008. He was on the Board of Directors for the Norton Fire Department. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Estellene Wallace and several brothers. Jack is survived by his brother-in-law, Mac Coleman, sister-in-law, Lavern Coleman, brother in law, Foster Coleman and a host of nieces and nephews. Caretakers Nancy, Velma, Janet, Orb, Adam, bookkeeper, Pam Bowman, and neighbors Carlos and Jan Bowling and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Sunday, December 31, 2017, 6:00 PM at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home with church services at 7:00 PM. Funeral will be Monday, 12 Noon, January 1, 2018, at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home with Gregory Coleman and Danny Smith officiating, Burial will follow in the Coleman Cemetery at Wolfpit, Ky.
