Betty Jo Smith

Betty Jo Smith, age 59, passed away Friday, January 5, 2018 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Betty was born on June 13, 1958 to her parents the late Jessie Adkins and Marie Adkins. She was the wife of Jimmy Smith, a nurse for Pikeville Medical Center and the education department, and a member of the First Baptist Church at Jenkins. Along with her parents, Betty was preceded in death by one sister, Zetta Tackett, and one brother, Billy Adkins. Along with her husband, Betty is survived by one son, James Aaron (Amy) Smith, one daughter, Bridget Michelle (Brad) Bingham, three grandchildren, Sophie Marie Smith, Briggs Isaac Bingham, Brynnley Grace Bingham, one brother, Kenneth Ratliff, five sisters, Tena Hackney, Audrey Clevinger, Edith Owens, Robbie Damron, Sherry Smith, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Sunday at 12 noon at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. The funeral will be Sunday, January 7, 2018 at 1p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Ratliff Cemetery at Draffin, Ky.
