Betty Greer

Betty J. Greer, age 86, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 in a caring community home of Jacksonville Florida. She was born September 1931 at Rockhouse Kentucky to Hawkins and Ida Coleman. Betty is predeceased by her loving and caring first husband, Carl W. Greer, and loving and kind second husband, Ersal Cantrell. Betty and Carl had 5 children together. She is survived by 4, Sheila Bates (deceased Roger, and fiancé Herb Shaw), Teresa Lieb (Alfred), Jennifer Blackburn (deceased Greg), and Carl Edward Greer (Kim). Betty was predeceased by her daughter Sandra Feltner (deceased Ralph). Known as Mamaw Betty, she had 11 grandchildren and 14 Great grandchildren, which all loved her dearly. Betty was the last descendant of Hawkin and Ida Coleman. She is preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and Freddy Coleman, and four sisters, Edith Bartley, Belve Cantrell- Ratliff, Sid Sharon, and Anna Mae Sucpin . Betty was faithful and a true love for Jesus. She loved to worship, whether at church or watching the gospel on television. She cherished her family and loved to cook for those she loved. Funeral services will be held at Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Visitation for the family starts at 4 o'clock Friday evening February 9th, and will be open to public visitors starting at 5 o'clock. Funeral services will be held at 11 o’clock on Saturday February 10th at Lucas and Son, followed by burial at Greer Cemetery in Myra, Kentucky. John 14: 1-3 Do not let your hearts be trouble. You believe in God; Believe also in me. My fathers house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I will am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.
