Erva Jean Chaney Cook

Erva Jean "Chaney" Cook, age 78, passed away Thursday, March 22, 2018 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Erva was born on August 21, 1939 to her parents the late Aaron Chaney and Quiney Justice Chaney. Erva was retired from the Black Lung Office, a Kentucky Colonel, and of the Baptist Faith. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ray Cook. Erva is preceded in death by four sisters- Hazel, Ocie, Mona, and Helena, three brothers- Everett, Aaron Jr., Fred. Erva is survived by two daughters- Karen Bevins, Kimberly (Brandon) Thacker. Erva is survived by four grandchildren, Mitchell Cochran, Zach Picklesimer, Kayla Adkins and Zhane Picklesimer, three great grandchildren, Hunter Adkins, Kylee Cochran, Jensen Picklesimer and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Friday, March 23, 2018, 6:00 PM at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home. Church Services will both Friday and Saturday nights at 7:00 PM. Funeral will be Sunday, March 25, 2018, 1:00 PM at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home with A.B. Thacker and Terry Gibson officiating. Burial will follow at the Chaney Cemetery, Millard, Ky.
