Ota Osborne

Ota Osborne, age 89, of Caney Highway passed away on Friday, May 30, 2008, at her residence. She was born on February 18, 1919, the daughter of the late Lee and Minerva Potter Wright. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ballard Osborne, and three brothers, Rollie, Walter and Orville Wright. Ota was a homemaker and a member of the Dorton Regular Baptist Church. She is survived by four sons, Larry Osborne and wife Sharon of Dayton, OH, Herman Osborne and wife Janice of Nashville, TN, David Osborne and wife Debbie of Dorton, KY, and Kenneth Osborne and wife LaVon of Dorton, KY, by three daughters, Brenda Roark and husband Sonny of Monroe, OH, Patricia Manning and husband Gary of Norwood, OH, and Sharon Branham and husband El Rod of Caney Highway, by one sister, Dessie Smallwood of Harlan, KY, by one brother, Carl Wright of Dorton, KY, by eleven grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and by three special caretakers, Sabrina Tackett, Tommie Branham, and Hazel Cable. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 1, 2008, after 6 p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, at 11 a.m., at the Dorton Regular Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Wright Cemetery at Dorton. Special services will be held on Sunday and Monday nights at 7 p.m.
