Elaine Bertrand, age 78, of Sheffield Lake, OH., formerly of Pikeville, passed away on Monday, March 24, 2008 at the New Life Hospice Center in Lorrain, OH. She was born on September 2, 1929 in Big Rock, VA., and had lived in Pikeville all her life, before moving to Sheffield Lake three years ago to be close to her daughter. Mrs. Bertrand was a homemaker, a member of Hope Christian Church in Avon, OH, and the Coal Run Church of Christ in Pikeville, Ky. she enjoyed reading books and magazines of all kinds and especially her bible and was described by the family as an excellent seamstress. Mrs. Bertrand is survived by four children, Charles Lee Bertrand (Lucille) of Prestonsburg, KY, Donovan Ray Bertrand (Linda) of Pikeville, KY, Christy Coleman (Winford) of sheffield Lake and Marsha Morgan (Chris) of Vermillion. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and a sister, Mary Alice Cheetam (J.R.) of Lexington, KY. She is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Ray and her parents, Charles and Ethel Stacy. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 after 6 p.m. at the Coal Run Church of Christ. Funeral services will be held on Friday at the Coal Run Church of Christ with Jerry Bliffen and E.W. Damron officiating. Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery. Special services will be held on Thursday night at 7 p.m.
