Ray Edward Bishop

Ray Edward Bishop, age 56, of Marvin, VA, passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at his residence. He was born on October 9, 1951, the son of the late Eulon and Vancie Bishop. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by three brothers, Eulon Jr., Raymond and Herman Bishop, and by one sister, Olive Bishop. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Wilson Bishop, by one son, Sherman Ray Bishop of Pounding Mill, VA, by a daughter, Meagan Wilson (Jackson) of Fayettville, NC, by one brother, Hubert Carl Bishop of Harman, VA, by four sisters, Vercie Hunt of Homer, MI, Edna Fuller of Fedscreek, KY, Earnestine Lester of Fedscreek, Ky, and Linda Cantrell of Somerset, KY. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2008, after 6 p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Michael Justice and Donnie Short officiating. Burial will follow in the R.H. Ratliff Cemetery. Special services will be held on Thursday and Friday nights at 7 p.m.
