Alta Dye

Alta Dye, age 65, of Island Creek, passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at the Pikeville Medical Center. She was born on June 4, 1943, the daughter of the late Kendrick and Betty Adams. in addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband Wayne Dye. She was survived one son, James Michael Dye of Island Creek, by one brother, Clement Adams of Island Creek by four sisters, Ruby Compton of Detroit, MI, Billie Lorraine of Island Creek, Laura Mullins of Cowpen Rd, and Maxine Osborne of Island Creek, by three grandchildren Alisha N Brogan, Thomas M.W. Dye, and James Corey Dye, and by two great grandchildren, Austin S. Brogan and Brooklyn L. Brogan. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2008, after 6 p.m. at the Island Creek Old Regular Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 12 noon at the Island Creek Old Regular Baptist Church with Regular Baptist Ministers officiating. Burial will follow in the Tackett Cemetery. Special services will be held on Thursday and Friday nights at 7 p.m.
