Jean Branham, age 78, passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at her residence. She was born on August 31, 1929, the daughter of the late Dover and Ella Bevins May. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death her husband, Tim Branham, by four sisters, Gladys Taylor, Dorothy Ball, Ruth Elswick and Beatrice Curry, and by three brothers, Ed, Fred and Walter May. She is survived by two daughters, Amy Branham of Louisville and Timothea Branham of Lexington, by two sons, Johnny (Sheila) McGuire and Frank (Viva) McGuire, all of Phelps, KY, by one sister, Nell Taylor of Meta, and one brother, Jack May of Lexington, by nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. A host of loving family and special friends also survive. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 8, 2008, at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with David Hale officiating. Burial will follow in the Bent Ridge Cemetery. Special services will be held on Friday night at 7 p.m.
