Ruth K. Johnson

Ruth K. Johnson, age 87, of Banner Elk, NC, formerly of Virgie, KY, passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2008, at the Blowing Rock Hospital in North Carolina. She was born on September 3, 1920, the daughter of the late Rans and Lula Newsome Kinney. She was also preceded in death by her husband Lowell Johnson. Ruth was retired from Elder Beerman and was a bridal consultant in Dayton, OH. She was also a member of the E.C.A. Church in Englewood, OH. She is survived by one son, L. Mark Johnson of Blowing Rock, NC, by two daughters, Sherry Johnson Bowman of Banner Elk, NC and Gloria Voke Johnson of Pikeville, KY, by two grandchildren, Angela Lynn Isbell and Ryan C. Johnson, and by three great grandchildren, Sara Alexandra Isbell, Maddison L. Kruscc, and Stefanie R. Kruscc. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2008, after 5 p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 12 noon at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Tommy DeHart officiating. Burial will follow in the Johnson Memorial Park. Special services will be held on Sunday evening at 7 p.m.
