June Abshire Slone

June Abshire Slone age 93 of Lick Creek passed away Friday, October 9th, 2009 at the Mt. View Health Care Center. June was born on June 25th, 1916 to her parents the late Mack Abshire and Mallie Abshire. She was the wife of the late Agee Slone, a teacher for the Pike County Board of Education, and a member of the Church of God. Along with her husband and parents, June was preceded in death by four sisters, Ruth Moore, Jackie Justice, Virginia Bale, Omega Dale, and one brother, Kermit Abshire. June is survived by three sons, Johnny Mac (Juanita) Slone of Pikeville, Ky., Michael Agee (Patricia) Slone of Lick Creek, Stephen Douglas (Gretta) Slone of Pikeville, Ky., two daughters, Patsy June (Glen) Slone of Loveland, Ohio, Rosemary (David) Justice of Phelps, Ky., one sister, Grace Dale of Palatka, Florida, two brothers, Don Abshire of Winchester, Ky., Bobby Abshire of Lick Creek, Ky., nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Saturday at 6p.m. at the Lick Creek Church of God. Special Services will be Saturday and Sunday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Monday 10-12-2009 at 1p.m. at the Lick Creek Church of God with Kathy Cantrell officiating. The burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery.
