June Parsons Compton

June Parsons Compton age 81 passed away Monday, January 5th, 2009 at her home. June was born on September 29th, 1927 to her parents the late Troy Stanley and Luna Bell Gibson Stanley. She was the wife of the late Sollie Compton, a retired school teacher for the Pike County Board of Education, and a member of the Coal Run Church of Christ. Along with her husband and parents, June was preceded in death by her first husband, Walter Parsons, two sisters, Mary Church and Juanita Smith, and one brother, Earl Stanley. June is survived by one son, Danny Parsons of Lexington, Ky., three daughters, Anita Johnson, Betty McGuire Brewer, and Margie Coleman all of Pikeville, two half sisters, Opal Burge of North Carolina, Rosie Buchanan of Tennessee, five half brothers, Emery B. Stanley of Williamson, WV., Johnie Stanley of Collins Hwy., Luther Stanley of Ohio, Raymond Stanley of Ohio, George Stanley of John's Creek, ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. The funeral will be Friday 1-9-2009 at 10a.m. at the Lucas & Son funeral Home with Jerry Bliffen officiating. The burial will follow in the Johnson Memorial Park.
