Nella Mae Bartley

Nella Mae Damron Bartley, age 84, passed away Wednesday, December 10th, 2008, at the Pikeville Health Care Center. She was born on May 11th, 1924 to her parents the late Bertram Damron and Ella Tackett Damron. She was the wife of the late Chester Bartley, a homemaker, and a member of the Little Creek Old Regular Baptist Church. Along with her husband and parents, Nella was preceded in death by one daughter Mary Carol Hunt, three brothers, Johnny, Hascal, and Fred Damron. Nella is survived by one daughter, Linda (Joe L.) Newsom of Shelbyville, Ky., two sons, Lawrence (Debbie) Bartley of Island Creek, Wayne (Teresa) Bartley of Justiceville, Ky., one sister, Joann Newsom of Little Creek, one brother, Gene Damron of Burea, Ky., eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Thursday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. The funeral will be Saturday at 11a.m., 12-13-2008 at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Teddy Honaker and others officiating. The burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery.
