Eppie Bartley

Eppie Bartley age 75 passed away Tuesday, August 4th, 2009 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Eppie was born on Feb. 26th, 1934 to his parents the late William McKinley Bartley and Trilby Gibson Bartley. He was the husband of Shirley Akers Bartley, a retired coal owner and operator, and a member of Marrowbone Missionary Baptist Church. Along with his parents, Eppie was preceded in death by six sisters, Gladys Holland, Giree Coleman, Madge Holland, Marcella Coleman, Nellie Bartley, and Oma Cole. Along with his wife, Eppie is survived by four sons, Ricky Eric (Brenda) Bartley of Laurel, Miss., Michael Clifford (Kimberlea) Bartley of Pikeville, Ky., Mark Dwayne (Sherrie Claiborne) Bartley of Harrogate, Tn., Timothy (Laurie) Bartley of Pikeville, Ky., three daughters, Alicia Ann (William Bryant) Bond of Hopkinsville, Ky., Tammy (Chad) Hunter of Ashcamp, Ky., Diane (Bill) Tipton of Rutledge, Tn., two brothers, Arnold Junior (Lavaughn) Bartley of Venters, Ky, Clinton (Jennifer) Bartley of Robinson Creek, Ky., two sisters, Stella Glee Senters of Lookout, Ky., Patricia (Robert) Reed of Jacksonville, Fl., sixteen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, a host of loving nieces, nephews, family and friends who will miss him dearly. Visitation will be Thursday at 7p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. The funeral will be Saturday, 8-8-2009 at 1p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Roger Johnson officiating. The burial will follow in the Johnson Memorial Park.
