Larry Coleman, age 73, of Long Fork Rd, Kimper, kY, passed away on Friday, October, 24, 2008, at the Pikeville Medical Center. He was born on December 20, 1934, the son of the late Paris and Missouri Coleman. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Frank, Don, Harvey, and Arvil Coleman, and by two sisters, Daisy Miller and Gracie Newton. Larry proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Before his retirement he worked for McCoy Elkhorn Mining Co., he was a member of the Kimper Fire Dept. and a member of the Long Fork Primitive Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Claudine Thornsbury Coleman, by two sons, Larry Coleman, Jr, and Steve Williamson, both of Kimper, two daughters, Sandy Hopkins of Virgie, KY and Tina Collins of Pikeville, KY, by three brothers, Plennie Coleman of Canada, KY, Carl Coleman of Kimper, KY, and Arnold Coleman of Elyria, OH, by one sister, Faye Coleman of Louisville, KY, and by five grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Sunday October 26, after 6 p.m. at the Long Fork Primitive Baptist Church at Kimper. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Long Fork Primitive Baptist Church at Kimper with Paul Varney, Steve Kinder and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Coleman-Newton Cemetery. Special services will be held on Sunday and Monday nights at 7 p.m.
