Jerry Adkins

Jerry Wayne Adkins, age 67 passed away Wednesday 12-3-2008 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Jerry was born n October 24th, 1941 to his mother the late Pearl Holland Davis. He was the husband of Barbara Kelly Adkins, a retired coal miner, and a believer of the Baptist Faith. Along with his mother, Jerry was preceded in death by one son, Charles Kelly. Along with his wife, Jerry is survived by two sons, Jerry Allen Adkins of shelby Gap, Ky., Jerry Matthew Wright of Indianapolis, In., one daughter, Donna Smith of Shelby Gap, Ky., two brothers, Randy Davis of Shelby Gap, and Ricky Davis of Shelby Gap, six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Friday at 6p.m. at the Old Elkhorn Regular Baptist Church at Shelby Gap. The funeral will be Sunday 12-7-2008 at 1p.m. at the Old Elkhorn Regular Baptist Church with Charles Nitchie, Dolph Kelly, Eddie Taylor and others officiating. The burial will follow in the Kelly Family Cemetery at Shelby Gap.
