George C. Chaney

George C. Chaney, age 72, of Pikeville, KY, passed away on Monday, August 8, 2008, at his residence. He was born on May 22, 1936, the son the late George Dewey and Vernie Epling Chaney. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by three sisters, Elfie Worrix, Nell Sharp, and Magdalene Thacker. George worked as a plumber for Chaney Plumbing. He is survived by his wife, Cloa Epling Chaney, by two sons, Phillip C. Chaney (Robyn) and Gary D. Chaney both of Pikeville, KY, by two sisters, Melba Slone and Mayrene Hamilton both of Pikeville, KY, and by two grandchildren, Arick Chaney and Gabrielle Chaney. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2008, after 6 p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Jimmy Jack Adkins and Tommy England officiating. Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery. Special services will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday nights at 7 p.m.
