Ralph Adkins

Ralph Adkins, age 84, of Pikeville, passed away on Monday, August 25, 2008, at the Pikeville Medical Center. He was born on July 31, 1924, the son of the late Ike and Grace Vanover Adkins. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by four brother, richard, Roscoe, Bobby and Paul Adkins, and by two sisters, Eleanor and Betty Lou. He is survived by three sons, Dennis Howard (Sandy) Adkins of Wyandotte, MI, Chris Duane (Pat) Adkins of Riverview, MI, and Thomas James (Arlene) Adkins of Alabama, by two daughters, Belinda Gail (Joel) Bowers of Colorado City, CO and Darline Gaye (Daniel) Adkins Long of Brownstown, MI., by one sister, Marcella Bentley of Shelbiana, KY, by twelve grandchildren, and several great grandchildren. A host of loving nieces and nephews also survive. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2008, after 6 p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Teddy Honaker and other Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating. Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery. Special services will be held on Thursday and Friday nights at 7 p.m.
