George B. "Clint" Eldridge, age 66, of Phelps, KY, passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2008. He was born on December 31, 1941, the son of the late Greeley and Addie Sawyers Eldridge. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one son, Chuckie Eldridge, six brothers and two sisters. Before his retirement, Clint had worked as a coal miner for the Eastern Coal Company. He was of the Protestant faith. He is survived by his wife, Lillie Haislet Eldridge, by three sons, Greg "Jake" Eldridge, Clayton (Anita) Eldridge, and Matt (Debbie) Eldridge all of Phelps, KY, by four daughters, Shelby (Roger) Perkins, of Cedar Huff, VA, Kristina (Martin) Pruitt, Sharon Eldridge, and Olivia Eldridge all of Phelps, KY. He is also survived by five sisters, Gearl (Wayne) Sanson of OH, Lucille Ingram of OH, Pricie Young, Opal Wolford, and Ruth (Billy) Dotson all of Phelps, KY, twelve grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2008, after 6 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Phelps. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Phelps with Bruce Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Wolford-Eldridge Cemetery at Phelps, KY. Special services will be held on Thursday and Friday nights at 7 p.m.
