Ruth C. Scott

Ruth C. Scott, age 75 passed away Sunday, May 31st, 2009 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Ruth was born on October 20th, 1933 to her parents the late Charlie Cochran and Ruby Hamilton Cochran. She was the wife of Rush L. Scott, a retired school teacher for Pikeville City School Systems, and a member of the Coal Run Church of Christ. Along with her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by two brothers, John Cochran and Floyd (Ned) Cochran, and one sister, Phyllis Howard. Along with her husband, Ruth is survived by one brother, Dewey Cochran of Pikeville, and three sisters, Lavonne Tatterson, Matilda Scott, and Edith Kells all of Pikeville, Ky., and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Tuesday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. The funeral will be Thursday 6-4-2009 at 11a.m. at the Coal Run Church of Christ with E.W. Damron and Jerry Bliffen officiating. The burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Coal Run Church of Christ Building Fund.
