Learly Compton

Learly Phillips Compton, age 87, passed away Sunday, October 5th, 2008 at the Hamilton Medical Center in Dalton, Ga. Learly was born on December 15th, 1920 to her parents the late Leonard Phillips and Stella Dotson Phillips. She was the wife of the late Cecil Compton, a homemaker, and a member of Edo Freewill Baptist church at Kimper. Along with her husband and parents, Learly was preceded in death by two brothers, Dearl Phillips and James Phillips, and one sister, Roma Phillips. Learly is survived by one daughter, Annilee Compton of Dalton, Ga., two brothers, Kermit Phillips of Kimper, Ky., Herbert Phillips of Columbus, In., two sisters, Mrs. Geneva Lell of Pilot, Va., Mrs. Nola Hatfield of Inez, Ky., and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6p.m. to 9p.m. at the Lucas & Son funeral Home. The funeral will be Thursday 10-9-2008, at 2p.m. at the Lucas & son funeral Home. The burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery at Shelbiana, Ky.
