Arkansas Hudson

Arkansas Hudson, 100 years old, of Robinson Creek, died Sunday, August 31, 2008, at Thompsonville Illinois. She was born August 2, 1907, at Weeksbury KY. She was the daughter of the late Burchfield and Louise Burke. She was a homemaker and a member of the Old Union Regular Baptist Church. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Roy Hudson, and three daughters, Beatrice, Violet, and Ann. She is survived by one son, Solomon Hudson of Fayetteville, WV, four daughters, Lealy Ratliff of Robinson Creek, Lois Tackett of Robinson Creek, Laura Johnson of Thompsonville, IL, and Brenda Burke of Lincoln Park, MI, one brother, Robert Burke of Indian Creek, KY, two sisters, Liza McIntosh of Indiana and Marcella Meade of Ohio. She is also survived by 32 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren, and 36 great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 2, 2008, at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home at 6 pm. Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 am at Lucas and Son Funeral Home with Carson Wright and others officiating. The burial will follow at the Amos Newsome Cemetery. Special services will be held Tuesday and Wednesday night at 7 pm.
