Foley Bentley, age 88, of Hellier, KY, passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2008, at the Pikeville Medical Center. He was born on January 28, 1920, the son of the late Ben H. and Emily Rowe Bentley. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by one sister, Vada Dennis, by three step-brothers, Leonard, Ervin, and Caleb Smallwood. Foley proudly served his country as a medic with the Army/Airforce during World War II. He was a retired machine repairman for General Motors and was the owner of Bentley's General Store. He is survived by his wife, Juanita Bowling Bentley, by two sons, Thomas Foley Bentley and Charles Eugene Bentley, both of Hellier, by two daughters, Donna Sue Bentley of Satsuma FL, and Dathy Jean Cubbler and husband Jim of The Villages, FL, by one brother, Olaf Bentley of Flint, MI, by two sisters, Vida Rose of Marion, OH, Vicie Smallwood of Shelby Gap, by a step-brother, Arthur Smallwood, by two step-sisters, Liza Jane Smallwood of MI, and Anna Smallwood of VA, by seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2008, after 6 p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Tommy Tackett, Richard Gibson, and Estil Mullins officiating. Burial will follow in the Sanders Cemtery at Rockhouse. Special services will be held on Thursday and Friday nights at 7 p.m.
