Alma Adkins

Alma Adkins, 76 of Shelbiana, KY passed away July 27, 2009 at Kings Daughter Medical Center in Ashland, KY. She was born May 7, 1933 to the late Lizzie and Lonnie Bevins. Alma was a homemaker and of the Christian faith. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Adkins, one infant daughter, and several brothers and sisters. Surviving Alma are four sons, Donald Adkins of Caney, KY, George Adkins of Pikeville, KY, Gary Adkins of Shelbiana, KY, and Johnny Adkins of Shelbiana, KY and five daughters, Elitha Hopkins of Shelbiana, KY, Barbara Varney of Johns Creek, KY, Pattie Thacker of Red Creek, KY, Betty Tucker of Red Creek, KY, and Norma Slone of Powells Creek, KY. She also leaves behind two brothers, Harold Bevins of Pikeville, KY and Curtis Bevins of Red Creek, KY and one sister, Ruth Wolford of Virgie, KY, twenty grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday after 6 PM at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with special services at 7 PM Wednesday and Thursday. Funeral services will be at 1 PM Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Chaney Cemetery at Fish Trap, KY.
