Barbara Sue Thompson

Barbara Sue Thompson, age 61, of Millers Creek Rd, Pikeville, passed away on July 7, 2008, at her residence. She was born on April 25, 1947, the daugher of Victoria Westmoreland and the late Haze Murphy. In addition to her father, she was also preceded in death by two sisters, Fonnie May and Mary Kay Murphy, and by one brother, Roger Murphy. Barbara was a homemaker and a member of the Coon Creek Freewill Baptist Church. In addition to her mother, she is also survived by her husband, Charlie Thompson, by three sons, Randall Keith Johnson of Pikeville, Ricky Dean Johnson of Virgie, and Gregory Johnson of Pikeville, by one daughter, Pamela Sue Johnson of Whitesburg, by four step-daughters, Lisa Elliot, Jamie Hall, Darlene Maynard, and Connie Chapman, all of Pikeville, by a step-son, Robert Thompson of Pikeville, by two brothers, Glen Murphy of Pikeville, and Gary Murphy of Corbin, KY, by six sisters, Yvonne Current of Fishtrap, Bonnie Porter of Pikeville, Loraine Williams of Pikeville, Rena Fay Murphy of Pikeville, Darlene Keathley of Ivel, and Nell Layne of Kimper, by twenty two grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2008, after 6 p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 12 Noon at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Morgan Chapman, Bill Smith, and Pete Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Family Cemetery at Ashcamp. Special services will be held on Wednesday evening at 7 p.m.
