Tivis B. Elswick

Tivis B. Elswick age 82 passed away Wednesday, September 8th, 2010 at his home. Tivis was born on January 22nd, 1928 to his parents the late James Elswick and Lucretia Tackett Elswick. He was the husband of the late Draxie Tackett Elswick, a coal miner for Chapparel Coal Co. Along with his wife and parents, Tivis was preceded in death by one brother, Eli Elswick, and three sisters, Letha Bryant, Kassie Adams, and Doshie Taylor. Tivis is survived by one daughter, Sharon (Phillip) King of Virgie, Ky., one son, T. Carl (Lola) Elswick of Prospect, Ohio, five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and four step great-grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Thursday at 6p.m. at the Long Fork Old Regular Baptist Church. Special services will be Thursday and Friday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Saturday 9-11-2010 at 11a.m. at the Long Fork Old Regular Baptist Church with Gary Hampton and others officiaiting. The burial will follow in the Eli Elswick Cemetery at Long Fork.
