Ray S. Johnson age 90 passed away Tuesday, March 30th, 2010 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Ray was born on Sept. 19th, 1919 to his parents the late Noah and Flora Johnson. He was the husband of the late Gloria Johnson, a retired self employed hunter, and a member of the Faith Baptist Church at Myra. He also served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during World War II. Along with his wife and parents, Ray was preceded in death by four brothers, Earl, Clyde, Junior, and Edgar, and three sisters, Brooksie, Bernice, and Meryl. Ray is survived by one daughter, Rayetta Johnson Smith of Frisco, Texas, five sisters, Thelma Pauley of South Carolina, Mildred Little of Alabama, Chloe Ann Reed of Little Creek, Shelvia Jean Little of Island Creek, Jeanette Maynard of Burning Fork, two grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Friday at 6p.m. at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home. The funeral will be Saturday, April 3rd, 2010 at 1p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Dave Hammond officiating. The burial will follow in the Family Cemetery at Rockhouse of Caney.
