Gladys Justice

Gladys Justice, age 85 of Shelbiana, passed away on Tuesday, June 8, 2010, at her daughters residence. She was born on January 20, 1925, the daughter of the late Jake and Elizabeth Thacker Kinney. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, James Justice, by one daughter, Sandra Sue Blackburn, by three brothers, Robert H., Ralph, and Billy M. Kinney, and by four sisters, Ruby Kinney, Edith Thacker, Betty Bowersock, and Gelois Robinson. Before her retirement, Gladys worked as a custodian at the Millard Elementary School. She was also a member of the Ratliff Old Regular Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Marsha (Mitchie Paul) Coleman of Pikeville, by a son, "Johnny" James Howard Justice of Shelbiana, by a brother, Benny Kinney of the State of Michigan, by seven grandchildren, Brent, Rachel, John Wesley, Jeffery, Chad, Crystal, and Craig, by seven great grandchildren, Kendra, Shannon, Zack, Kelly, Cody, Mitchell, and Joshua, and by two step-granchildren, Courtney and Stephen. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 9, 2010, after 6 p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 12 Noon at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Curtis Carroll and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery. Special services will be held on Wednesday and Thursday nights at 7 p.m.
