Maudie Hill, age 91, of Caney, passed away on Saturday, July 10, 2010, at the Pikeville Medical Center. She was born on February 26, 1919, the daughter of the late John and Hannah Keeten Cantrell. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Hill, by two sons, Cletis and Nolan Hill, by three daughters, Loretta, Beaulafae, and Phyllis Ann, by one granddaughter, Hannah Hill, by a great-granddaughter, Natasha Burnette, and by 16 brothers and sisters. She is survived by three sons, Harold Hill of Pikeville, and Clifford Hill and Elza Hill, both of the state of Ohio, by four daughters, Rudella Clark, Loistene Burnette, Patty Jean Haze and Novella Dye all of the state of Ohio, by one sister, Ruby Hendricks of the state of Michigan, by thirty-nine grandchildren and fifty-five great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 11, 2010, after 6 p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Jack Lucas, Teddy Honaker, Jimmy Dale Sanders and Glen Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the Hill Family Cemetery at Caney. Special services will be held on Sunday and Monday nights at 7 p.m.
