Barbara Jean Adkins

Barbara Jean Adkins, age 75, of Island Creek, Pikeville, passed away Friday May 28,2010 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Barbara was born March 23,1935 to her parents, the late Virgil and Irene Allen.She was the wife of her late husband, Ballard Adkins. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Voice of Victory Church. Along with her husband and her parents Barbara was preceded in death by two brothers, Burton Allen and Bobby Allen. Barbara is survived by one son, Perry Adkins, three daughters, Peggy Adkins, Patty Adkins, Phyllis Music, by one brother, Billy and his wife Myrtle Allen, three sisters, Betty and her husband Robert Boggs, Bonnie and her husband Dennis Rinehart, Bealuh Hebner, four Grandchildren, Stephen, Halee, Anna, Tara, three Great-Grandchildren Zakk, Jasper, Joseph and a host of loving family and friends who love her and will miss her dearly. Visitation will be at the Island Creek Freewill Baptist Church, Saturday May 29,2010 at 6 p.m. Funeral will be at the Island Creek Freewill Baptist Church, Monday May 31,2010 at 11 a.m. Special services will be Saturday and Sunday Night at 7 p.m. Burial will be in the Annie E. Young Cemetery.
