Allen Thacker

Elder Allen Thacker was born April 17th, 1936 to the late William Madison and Mary Belle (Blackburn) Thacker. Brother Allen went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Dec. 12th, 2010 at 4:45p.m. Brother Allen was preceded in death by sisters, Christine Thacker and Geneva (Thacker) Harmon and brothers, Earl and Eugene Thacker all of Kimper, Ky. Also preceding Brother Allen in death are his other brothers, Daniel, Burlin, Hayes, Joney and Lawrence Thacker, Victor and Virgil Hess and sisters, Virgie Meadows, Emmie Coleman, Ardie Bevins, and Eleanor Williamson. Brother Allen had two son in laws precede him in death, Hassell Ratliff and Larry Taylor, two infant grandchildren, and one great grandson, Gunner Varney. Brother Allen was married to Myrtle (Harris) Thacker on October 17th, 1953 at Pikeville, Ky. Brother Allen and Sister Myrtle were married for 57 years and to this union were born two sons, David (Nanette) and Tim (Laverne) Thacker and five daughters, Barb (The Late Hassell) Ratliff, Patty (Bill) Slone, Linda "BooBoo" (John) Willis, Denise (Barry) Thacker and Missy (Stanley) Pinion. Allen had twelve grandchildren, David (Casey) Thacker, Tiffany (Tim) Hite, Michele (Ronn) Varney, Stephany (Colin) Weir, Nathan (Brittany) Ratliff, Lisa (Brian) Daniels, John Pinion, Kylea Pinion, Mika Thacker, Emilee Pinion, John Willis, and Ethan Willis. Allen had eight great-grandchildren, Jacob Thacker, Matthew Thacker, Ally Thacker, Trent Hite, Zoey Ratliff, Trevor Hite, Ian Weir, and Chloe Roberts. Allen became a member at Cedar Bottom Old Regular Baptist Church at Kimper, Ky., on June 7, 1972 and was a faithful member until his death. Visitation will be Tuesday at 6p.m. at the Cedar Bottom Old Regular Baptist Church. The funeral will be Thursday 12-16-10 at 11a.m. at the Cedar Bottom Old Regular Baptist Church with James Tackett and others officiating. The burial will follow in the Thacker Family Cemetery at Canada, Ky.
